Preparing caulking gypsum putty: First, make sure the container used is clean. Pour clean water into the container according to the specified ratio, then slowly add caulking gypsum powder, let it swell for 5 minutes, and stir it into a slurry with a clean stirring rod without lumps. The prepared slurry should be used within 45 minutes, otherwise it will begin to solidify and cannot be used.
Treat the board edge: For the longitudinal edge, if the board edge is wrapped with facial paper, it does not need to be treated, but for the cut board edge, it is necessary to gently chamfer before installation, and after installation, use a knife to pick up the upper layer of facial paper and keep the lower layer of paper to prevent the gypsum core from being exposed.
Caulking process: Use a small scraper to evenly embed the caulking putty into the gap between the lower part of the board, and ensure that the putty squeezes out of the back panel edge to form a protruding putty edge so that it can bite more firmly with the caulking putty. After the putty is completely dry, use an electric or manual sander to smooth the caulking gypsum putty.
Wall inspection and material preparation: Before scraping putty on the gypsum board, first check whether the wall is solid and flat. If there are cracks or stains on the wall, they need to be treated first. Then, prepare the materials and roll evenly on the concrete interface paint. If it is a newly built wall, you need to wait for 28 days of cement curing before scraping putty.
Putty scraping and polishing: Generally, the wall can be puttyed twice, but if the wall is not flat, it may need to be scraped more times. Each batch of putty scraping takes more than 2 hours. After the putty is dry, use a light bulb close to the wall to check the flatness and polish it. Finally, clean the dust on the wall and evenly apply primer and topcoat.
